Frequently Asked Questions

What is your payment structure?

Emily’s rates for private pay therapy are $195 for initial appointment and $175 for subsequent sessions. MJ’s rate for an initial 60 minute appointment is $165 and subsequent 50 minute sessions are $150 per session.

Payment is due at the conclusion of each appointment. Cade Therapy Services LLC accept cash, check, credit card (+ HSA or FSA) through client portal. If you prefer to use Venmo, please know that Emily cannot promise you confidentiality in your transaction. Emily, however, has placed Venmo settings to private and would recommend you do the same if you wish to decrease likelihood of others making note of transactions. If there is an upfront agreement with a third party for payment (i.e. Worker’s Compensation, medical trust), terms of the agreement must be secured prior to initiation of sessions. For Worker’s Compensation, charges & expected reimbursement reflect the established fees schedule rate as outlined by the Board.

Cade Therapy Services reserves a portion of slots for sliding scale for those who find private pay to be a barrier to treatment. I will be glad to consider sliding scale if I have availably. Please reach out and we will discuss. If I do not have availably at that time, I am happy to provide you other resources which might helpful. MJ has availability on a sliding scale basis. Please reach out with any questions. At this time, Emily’s sliding-scale slots are accounted for and will update the website when those are open again.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out of network provider for insurance plans.  Many insurance plans provide out-of-network mental health coverage which may reimburse you directly for a portion of your visit. For clients who have out-of-network coverage, I am happy to provide a statement (‘superbill’) monthly that you can submit to your insurance company directly to determine if they will reimburse you for any portion of the session.   If you are interested in determining if your insurance provides for out of network benefits, I recommend you contact your insurance company prior to the first session. Some questions to consider when contacting your insurance carrier:

  • What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained from an out-of-network provider?

  • How many sessions will be covered per plan year?

  • What is my deductible? What is my co-payment?

  • What is my out of pocket maximum responsibility?

  • Will I receive different reimbursement based on in-person vs virtual services?

How long will I need therapy?

Therapy is a personal journey and no two people or families are exactly alike.  That said, therapy is based on your needs. Sometimes people access therapy for a finite amount of time to work on a specific issue at hand. Other clients benefit from long-term therapy to process issues as they arise and maintain what they feel is a healthy dynamic in their life.  We will discuss this during our sessions and continue to re-evaluate as you engage in the process.

When are you available?

We see clients Monday – Friday. All phone calls and emails will be responded to during the weekdays -  Please note that many times we will be away from the phone/email as we are working with clients, so we will respond to your call or email when we have a break in schedule which may be the end of the business day. If for any reason your therapist is out of the office for an extended period of time, that therapist will ensure out of office email response and voicemails are changed to notify you as of such.

What do I do in a Mental Health Emergency?

If there is a crisis or life-threatening mental health emergency and you do not reach me, please do not wait for your therapist to return your call, text, or email. PLEASE call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line 1-800-715-4225, 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), 911, or report to the nearest emergency department.
