  • Anxiety

    Anxiety is without a doubt a common experience that can affect people of all ages. While some level of anxiety can be healthy (pushes us past our comfort zone) it becomes an issue when it causes distress and impacts your quality of life. It presents in many different ways including physical symptoms (i.e. racing heart), worry, racing thoughts, fear of losing control, decreased concentration, restlessness, irritability, difficulty sleeping, fear, unease to name a few. Cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and developing lifestyle changes can be invaluable tools we will utilize in therapy sessions to help you identify triggers and develop coping skills and tools to manage symptoms effectively.

  • Depression

    When depression hits, you may feel like the last thing you want to do is reach out and talk about it. What I can tell you is this: It can get better. If you are noticing persistent and intense feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, or decrease in interest of these may be signs of depression. Symptoms of depression can significantly impact a person's ability to function in daily life. Working in therapy can be effective in decreasing symptoms of depression by identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, developing coping skills, and building resilience.

  • Adjustment to Chronic Illness

    Living with a chronic illness is not a straight road. There are twists and turns along the way, and psychotherapy can be helpful for people with chronic illness providing emotional support and coping strategies to manage the challenges of living with a chronic condition. We take into account both the physical aspects and emotional aspects of your illness as we work together to process feelings related to the diagnosis. I meet you where you are now, take time to look back on where you have been, and work to increase your feelings of being empowered in your care.

  • Acute Injury

    I have witnessed how therapy after acute injury can help people cope with the physical, emotional, and mental challenges that arise following the injury. We work together to address feelings of anxiety, depression, or trauma which could arise related to the injury, working to best manage emotions and develop coping strategies. Education is an invaluable tool as related to acute injury Examples of topics may include pain management techniques, strategies for returning to daily activities including work, school, sports.

  • Grief & Loss

    I provide a supportive space for individuals experiencing loss and grief to process their emotions and work through the variety of emotions that can arise. We work to understand the place you are in as related to stages of grief, respect the emotions you are feeling, and develop coping strategies. It may be difficult to believe that you will find meaning and purpose in life after a significant loss; We work together to ultimately move towards a place of healing while always honoring the loss along the way.

  • Trauma

    Trauma is a response to distressing experiences that overwhelms an individual's coping abilities. It can cause physical and psychological symptoms, impacting relationships and emotions. Psychotherapy can help manage symptoms and reduce suffering by providing a safe space to process the trauma. Sometimes, you need someone to listen and support you without trying to fix the unfixable. Therapy can work towards healing and reducing the suffering caused by trauma.

Adolescents & Young Adults

Supporting young people is important to me.

Having worked with adolescents and young adults during some of their most difficult moments, we are assured in our ability to build strong connections with youth and young adults. Our objective is to foster a secure and encouraging space that enables them to navigate through the various challenges that arise during adolescence which may include adjustment to stages in life, navigating peer pressure, building self-esteem, managing family dynamics, concern with fitting in, body image concerns, anxiety, and depression. It is an honor and a privilege to work together to navigate through the various challenges that arise during these life stages.
